My name is Tim Lees and I am the founder of Training Specific.

I am a UEFA A Licensed coach and hold a BSc (Hons) in Sports Psychology. I have a desire and passion for helping coaches and players of all levels and abilities.

My Journey

I have been extremely fortunate to gain a wide range of experience across the whole spectrum of coaching working alongside some incredibly inspiring people.

My previous roles include overseeing professional academy foundation ages 9-11, as YDP 12-16 lead, u18/23 coach, first team coach and working full time at Premier League, Championship and League One clubs.

In addition to this, I have also been Academy Manager in USA, first team coach in semi-professional football and Head Coach to the winning team of the FA Vase at Wembley in 2021.

My professional coaching journey began in 2007 when I was hired as a Technical Coach for Pepsi working on events alongside David Beckham in Madrid and Ronaldinho in Barcelona.

After coaching at Watford Academy at England’s first ever daytime based training model in 2008, I moved as 12-16s manager at Wigan Athletic under Roberto Martinez which led to being seconded to manage Roberto’s academy in Spain during the summer of 2012.

Following this role, I moved as YDP Lead to Premiership and Champions League winning Liverpool F.C. academy before moving to St Louis SC in the USA where my roles included Academy Director, u18 Head Coach and first team coach. I then moved into Head Coach role at Warrington Rylands gaining back to back promotions and winning the FA Vase at Wembley Stadium in 2021. I am currently Assistant Manager at Bury Football Club.
